Today we visited with Kris Heichel with Fairway Independent Mortgage Company. Kris always shares openly with students about the real challenges that she has encountered both professionally and personally. This is something that allows our students to understand that everything is not perfect and how they can overcome the challenges they will face. One piece of advice she gave was to find a career that you love and want to go to each day. Kris was clear on what her why is in life and making sure students understand that they have to know their why and what drives them. Being successful for her family is part of her why, but not only does she do what she does for her family, but she also does it for her team and their families. Kris also talked about the mortgage process and credit as students look to the future. She also shared about goal setting and how this has changed the game for her. Students asked many great questions about these topics that help them to understand the impact this could have on their future businesses and their life. We greatly appreciate the commitment that Kris has to this program and our students!

Her final advice: “Be true to yourself and know your why. The why can get you through anything!”
